Have you been listening to the news of all the shortages we may face this Christmas? Apparently there are all sorts of problems from shipping container shortages, to back ups in ports, to shortages of workers. I understand this is not the place you come to for doom and gloom, so let’s get proactive and do our shopping early so we can sit back and enjoy our friends and family at Christmas.

Christmas back door

Welcome!!! Doesn’t our back door from last year just make you smile? I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for some new holiday inspiration to spruce up my home and make it feel fresh and current.

So today, I am going to share with you some great new pieces that you can add to your existing decorations. Just click on any of the square product photos and it will take you directly to the site where you can obtain more information. I have divided the inspirational pieces up according to design styles for ease of understanding.

Farmhouse Christmas

Some say Farmhouse is not as popular, but when I look out into the Instagram world I see a lot of Farmhouse so I made sure to have lots of options for beautiful new decor. I do find that some of the options I have in the Farmhouse category could spill over into the other categories so feel free to mix and match. Make it your own!!!

Let’s start with some pillows and throws that are going to set a festive mood and bring warmth to your home.

Next, how about a little bit of decor like candleholders or signs? They always add interest to a room. In the selection below I can see the wooden house signs in the living room, kitchen or entrance. The big burlap bags would be perfect on a Christmas morning for families with small children who still believe in Santa. My all time favorites in this group are the big lanterns and the small round light garland. The ambience they would bring would be beautiful.

A staple to have in any home at Christmas is faux greenery. I mix real and faux because I can have the faux greenery up longer. I bring fresh in closer to when company is arriving so that our home smells like a forest. I felt the choices below would look great on a table, on a mantle or above doorways. It is lovely how real they look. The lit birch branch has my heart going pitter patter!

While on the topic of greenery let’s bring in some table top trees, a few taller birch trees and the all important collars for your large Christmas trees.

Now let’s finish off a Farmhouse Christmas with a few wreaths and some beautiful wreath hangers I found.

Mountain Retreat Christmas

Many of the garlands, trees, etc. from Farmhouse could definitely spill into a Mountain Retreat theme so here I am just going to show things that are strikingly perfect for a mountain cabin or home that you want to make feel like one! I find that a mountain retreat theme pulls from nature so you will see lots of natural elements like pine cones, greenery, twigs, owls, birds and other wildlife. One section of our home was in the mountain cabin theme and it looked like this.

Christmas Credenza
My Christmas credenza that definitely has a mountain retreat feel

First up is a selection of decor including signs, ornaments and paintings. Wait till you see the skis and the stocking for man’s best friend! I am definitely ordering that one for Mia.

Next are the coziest throws and pillows that are sure to bring your home to life.

I had to throw in these beautiful tree collars that are going to have your family and guests loving these unique bases.

Lastly, I found some beautiful wreaths and greenery that are so natural and will be perfect for a front entrance or porch.

Our entrance from last Christmas definitely had mountain retreat design elements as shown below. I combined fresh greenery over the door by wiring it and attaching it to nails. The other greenery is faux but it is of such great quality that you definitely would not know the wreath isn’t real. Be sure to check out my Christmas post of decorations I have in my own home by clicking this link.

Neutral Christmas

With so much going on in the world, I find many of us are looking for simpler, more soothing decor and a neutral palette is a fantastic way to obtain serenity in your home even though there is so much going on at Christmas.

Living room Christmas 2020

Above is a photo of my home with a neutral grey, black, white and silver theme from last year. It was very striking and our guests loved it. The neutral options below are also making my heart skip a beat and and know I will be ordering a bunch of them!

Below is the most beautiful selection of neutral bedding, throws, stockings and pillows. I love the old fashioned stockings!!! Expect to see those at my home this year.

How about some fabulous tree skirts and collars.

And I cannot forget about some lovely neutral wreaths. These are sure to look good on everyone’s front door.

Last year, even our wrapping paper was on a neutral theme and I really loved how calming it was on the room. We used brown paper that you can get at the post office to wrap packages and burlap ribbon and twine to add more interest. We purchased the tags at Michaels and voila we were done!

Wrapped presents from Christmas 2020

Here are some of the products we used to gain this effect.

Well that is it for now, but I will be sharing with you in two weeks some hot new 2021 Christmas decor ideas and trends! Stayed tuned I think you are going to love them!

Oh no, I’m already late!!! Love your entry last year … so fun and traditional. I’m leaning toward the traditional route this year, but we’ll see. Your neutral palette options are pulling at my heart strings too. Either way, it’s time to get busy for the holidays! xo

Love all your ideas and inspiration, Crystal! And, you back door from last year … wow! So traditional and happy. After reading this my decision to not put up a tree this year is wavering. We’ll see how I feel after Thanksgiving. I do think a lot of people are going to enjoy a more neutral palette this year and that’s the way I’m going for our porch. I can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving and then it’s Christmas 24/7. Happy Thanksgiving! xo
