Rose Ice Cubes for Drink Buckets
You and your guests are going to love how these turn out! It may seem like an extra step, but I guarantee everyone is going to be thrilled with this gorgeous way to chill your drinks.
Supplies needed:
For this form of ice cube you will need:
- at least a dozen roses in the color(s) appropriate for your color scheme;
- small round balloons;
- water;
- a turkey baster;
- a tray;
- drink bucket (ice bucket);
- sturdy table; and
- fancy glasses in a style appropriate for your chosen drinks.

Step 1 – Prepare water
To have clear ice cubes, you need to either boil your water or better yet use distilled or filtered water. If you go with the boiling water method, be sure to let it cool completely.

Step 2 – Prepare roses
When picking your roses, look for roses that have a good sized head and are healthy, not wilted.

Remove any petals that are damaged or discolored.

Then cut off the stem and green leaves below rose.

Stretch out the opening of a balloon.
Take one rose head and push the base of the rose in first into the balloon. Not going to lie, this can be difficult so if you have a husband, friend, brother with strong hands get them to hold open the balloon as you press in the rose.

Fill all balloons with the roses.
Step 3 – Fill the balloons
Now it is time to fill the balloons with water. I am going to use filtered water so I am filling it directly from our water spigot. Make sure to fill the balloon a lot so that there is an ample amount of water around the rose which will turn into ice.

Tie the balloon and place on a tray.

Repeat until all balloons are filled.
Place the tray in the freezer.
Step 4 – Set up the drink table
Place a sturdy table wherever you want your guests to get their welcome drinks.
If your table is nice, you can leave it bare, but if not, place a beautiful tablecloth on it.
Make sure there is room on this table for your drink bucket and space for glasses.
Set up your glasses on one side of the table and place a wine bottle opener on the table as well as any other items you need for your drinks.
Place bottles of wine, prosecco, champagne and other drinks in a large, sturdy ice bucket.
Step 5 – Time to reveal the rose ice cubes
Just before the event, remove the frozen balloons from the freezer.
Cut the tops off of the balloons and peel the balloon off of the frozen rose ice cubes. Then rinse with filtered or distilled water.

I love how they turned out. The ice seems to amplify the details of the rose, like the veining and the fluttery edges of the petals.

Finally place all the ice cubes around the bottles and place the drink bucket on the table you previously set up.

Look how stunning the roses look into the ice cubes.

The ice brings out their beauty and certainly adds more interest to the ice bucket.

Now let’s try another form of a rose ice cube…
Rose Shaped Cranberry Ice Cubes
You could always have Prosecco on it’s own but why not go the extra mile and make it more beautiful and delicious?
Once again making these ice cubes is so easy so let’s get started.
Supplies needed:
For these ice cubes you will need the following (product links are below):
- silicone rose shaped ice cubes (other shapes are available);
- cranberry juice or raspberry cranberry juice;
- edible glitter;
- a freezer;
- coupe glasses; and
- Prosecco or Sprite.

Step 1 – Clean your rose molds
If this is your first time using your rose ice cube molds, wash and dry them thoroughly.
Place your molds on a tray.
Step 2 – Add juice & edible glitter
Pour cranberry or raspberry cranberry juice to the molds.

With a small teaspoon, add a little edible glitter to each rose ice cube and then stir gently.

An alternative method is to add the edible glitter to the juice first and stir well. Then pour into rose molds.

Place in freezer until just before the guests arrive.
Remove from the silicone mold and place on a tray.
Step 3 – Preparing the drink
The best way to serve this drink, is to prepare it directly in front of your guests because they need to see how the ice cubes sparkle and come to life.
Pop the cork on the Prosecco and take the lid off of the Sprite.
Get ready for photos – yes this is photo worthy!
Place a rose ice cube in the bottom of a coupe glass. Look close and you can see the glitter.

Then gently pour the Prosecco or Sprite over the rose ice cube.
Look how beautiful it looks!

Not only does it look fabulous , the cranberry juice mixed with the Prosecco is delightfully refreshing.
