This one change made all the difference.
Our downstairs bar started with simple Home Depot cabinetry, but I knew a few thoughtful details could give it a completely different feel.
I updated the cabinets with beautiful Amerock Destine pulls and Ashby cup pulls in Golden Champagne — and then used the larger Destine appliance pulls in a slightly unexpected way, as rails along the open shelves.
That little detail might just be my favourite part.
I finished the space with pieces I already love: vintage glassware, old books, shells, warm gold candleholder and a few coastal-inspired prints. Together, they gave this little bar area so much more warmth, character and personality.
It’s such a good reminder that you don’t always need to replace everything to completely change the way a space feels. Sometimes, it really is the details that make all the difference.

It is smokey here due to fires in our province and in Washington. However, the sweet peas are doing their best to fill the air with their sweet scent, and I am very grateful for them.
I remember sweet peas as a child and breathing in their fragrance. It was as if joy and everything good were captured in their petals.
They have also been retaining their color beautifully as I press them for art projects.
So much goodness in a flower that was celebrated by our grandmothers but often forgotten about today.
Wishing you a day filled with comforting memories of the past and a garden filled with color and sweet smells.

When we first furnished our primary bedroom, I loved the layout, but I always felt the furniture was missing a little character. Changing the hardware turned out to be the finishing touch that made everything feel warmer, more elegant, and much more custom.
For this makeover, I chose the beautiful Amerock Winsome knobs and pulls paired with Maymont backplates in Golden Champagne, and I couldn't be happier with the result. ✨ The soft champagne gold adds just the right amount of vintage-inspired charm while making budget-friendly furniture look so much more refined. And the backplates, well, they elevated everything. To me, they give a feeling of old world elegance.
It's amazing how one thoughtful upgrade can make an entire room feel complete.

It is peony season and I always leave them in the garden too long. I hate cutting them when they look stunning in their natural habitat but we got some rain today so I ran out and harvested these beauties. The fragance is pure perfection. Wish I could send it out thru this video.
That should be a thing shouldn't it? We can send what we see along with the sound, now they just have to figure out how we can transmit the scent thru our phones 🤣 Wouldn't that be amazing?
